Patriotism- this is the word
the word that reminds me of the true feelings of being born &
being brought up in India;
that reminds me of the rare gift god has given me
in the form of an excellent landscape coupled with resources;
that reminds me of my country's culture and diversity;
that opens up my eyes to the unleashed potential of my nation;
that also reminds me that rights always come along with duties &
that i too like all others have responsibilities towards my nation;
Patriotism- this is the word
that reminds me to keep alive the passion of success and achievement alive
so that i can work with the best of my ability;
that even reprimands me every time I commit any act
derogatory to my motherland, whether knowingly or not;
that echoes inside my heart every time i see my grandpa's dress of the indian army;
that brings alive a feeling strong and vivid enough
to make me ready & determined to lay off my life if asked for my service to my nation.
Patriotism- this is the word
that rekindles the fire of hope , aspirations & commitment inside me;
besides reminding me of the unearthly feel which i get whenever i repeat to myself this sentence-
"I can die for India"
